OpenAI has escalated the AI wars with the launch of ChatGPT Atlas, a native browser integrating chat, browsing, and automation. The MOVE shifts competition from search engines to the browser itself, directly challenging Google's two-thirds market share.

Google is expected to counter with Gemini 3, embedding multimodal reasoning into Chrome. 'We're building AI into products that meet people where they are,' an OpenAI spokesperson stated, signaling ambitions beyond standalone models.
